Easter, the day Jesus rose victorious over sin, death and the grave. Jesus died on a cross, in our place and for our sins. Because of the death and resurrection of Jesus, we can know the love of God.

You must never forget the words of Jesus, the promises of God: he has risen, just as he said! Jesus spoke of hope, forgiveness, peace, love, healing and eternal life. The proof that the promise of God is true, is the empty tomb.

The resurrection changed everything.

Jesus displayed His love and faith in God the father His entire life, even when He faced death on the cross. Jesus displayed His love to His disciples and all who listened. Jesus ministered to his disciples and those around him for 3 ½ years; but the greatest expression of his love is found in his sacrificial death and resurrection.

“On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5 In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, ‘Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7 The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ 8 Then they remembered his words” (Luke 24:1-8, NIV).

The absolute truth of hope in this life is that who so ever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. That is real hope. A Hope and Love that people need to hear and know every day.

Jesus entered into our pain and our shame; Jesus came and paid our penalty of sin and took the weight of sin and Evil upon himself—so that sin’s power would be broken.

The Disciples lost hope

Jesus’ death on the cross likely crushed the disciples emotionally and they would have felt alone, empty and confused. They did not understand why all this happened. Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God. He was to deliver them from bondage. Now what are they to do? The messiah is dead.

What about you? Are you in a tough situation?

In the seemingly impossible situation you may find yourself in today. In the midst of fear or sorrow, we need to remember and be reminded, to not doubt or forget the promises of God.

Never forget the words of Jesus—they’re hope and life

When suddenly they remembered Jesus words. ”The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.” Those who remembered Jesus’ words were filled with hope and new life; they told others of the empty tomb.

We get ourselves into trouble when we forget Jesus’ words.

We get ourselves into trouble when we take our eyes off of Jesus and focus on what we think we can do or should do, rather than trusting God and what God is doing.

Hope, forgiveness, love, and eternal life are yours!

The future may seem uncertain and the horizon appears dark, and a far way off; but I want to remind you of the words Jesus taught. Jesus spoke of hope, forgiveness, peace, love, healing and eternal life. The proof that the promise of God is true, is the empty tomb. The proof is Jesus is risen.
